With increase in climate risk index, all developed countries and developing moving their interest toward the renewable energy sources. There are many sources for the renewable energy available now a days, such as biomass, bio fuel, wind, solar, geothermal, hydro, etc. Among this, wind and solar energy investment are the highest among the nations. Although investment in wind energy were consistent for last 10 years, investment in the solar energy has soured since 2004. In 2018, More than 50% global investment on renewable energy is over the solar energy followed by wind energy.
As interest over the clean energy usage has increased, in 2019, total investment on the clean energy is approximately equal to the 302 Billion USD. Their is an significant rise(10 times) in the investment over last two decades. China and united states are the highest investers in the clean energy. They invested close to 90 billion USD in 2019.
Despite rapid increase in the interest for investing in the renewable energy, cosumption rate is far behind the coal, natural gas and other energy consumption rate. However, In last two decades, we could observe a significant increase in the global consumption rate of about 29 exajoules. Again, China and united states are top of the list in the energy consumption stats. Although, investment in the solar energy is highest, in terms of the comsumption, wind and hydro energy tops the spot.
